MOORESTOWN, NJ — An office building would get demolished and replaced with a self-storage facility in a proposal that Moorestown officials are reviewing.

The 3-floor facility would replace the 2-floor shared office building on 800 N Church St. If approved, construction would likely take until 2026, according to documents submitted to the township.

The proposal is slated for a hearing Tuesday at the Moorestown Zoning Board meeting.

MRE Five LLC — an entity based at 119 N Church St. — submitted the application.

The self-storage facility would occupy a property that once had a warehouse, which was renovated in 2008 for medical- and general-office use, according to a prior real estate listing.

The property is at the corner of N Church Street and Flynn Avenue.

In December, the zoning board approved MRE Five's proposal to build a self-storage facility at the property. For the project to proceed, the board must now approve MRE Five's comprehensive site plan.

The address is located in a Specially Restricted Commercial zone, where Moorestown allows lower-traffic businesses, such as small shopping centers, office parks and corporate headquarters. Self-storage facilities weren't allowed in the area until the zoning board passed December's resolution.

Under the proposal, MRE Five will demolish the current office building and replace it with a 26,000-square-foot self-storage space. A parking lot and loading area would also be paved, among other site work.

The zoning board meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers of Town Hall (111 W 2nd St., Moorestown).
