Services Set For Air Force Veteran From Moorestown

Bruce Slocum of Moorestown, NJ passed away on Jan. 5, 2018, at the age of 88. Bruce was born and raised in Moorestown and was a longtime employee for McGuire Air Force Base and the local hardware store. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1950–1954, and was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post # 42 of Moorestown.

Bruce also served as a leader for the Boy Scouts Troop # 4 and was a longtime active member the First United Methodist Church which he enjoyed very much . Husband of the late Dorothy. Father of Charles Bruce Slocum of Ca. and Deborah Lynne (Slocum) Hayman and her husband Jeffrey of Moorestown. Also survived by four grandchildren.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, at the First United Methodist Church, Camden and Pleasant Valley Avenues, Moorestown, NJ. Visitation is Friday, 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Church. Interment Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church.
