Shrek Comes to Moorestown Friends School in November

Students will perform Shrek The Musical Nov. 21-23 in the school's auditorium.

The Moorestown Friends School offers its take on Shrek with a presentation of Shrek The Musical, Nov. 21-23 in the school’s auditorium.

Based on the blockbuster movie and the book by William Steig, the story begins with an ogre named Shrek. On his seventh birthday, Shrek’s parents send him out on his own to make a living. They warn him that because of his looks, everyone will hate him, and he will not have a happy ending. Shrek goes on to meet a host of disgruntled fairytale creatures, a princess named Fiona, and a sidekick Donkey who helps him save his swamp.

Brandon Beach ’15 (Lumberton) plays the title role, and Pilar Martinez ’15 (Moorestown) plays Princess Fiona. Noah Borromeo ’17 (Roebling) stars as Donkey, Luke Shaffer ’15 (Moorestown) is Lord Farquaad, Jonathan D’Souza ’19 (Sicklerville) is Pinocchio, Skylar McClane ’16 (Medford) is Gingy, and Sierra Mills ’16 (Manalapan) plays the role of Dragon.

Dates for the three shows are:
Friday, Nov. 21: 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 22: 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 23: 2 p.m.
