Strong Response on Cannabis Legalization in New Jersey

As cannabis legalization continues to take the world by storm, the issue remains somewhat complicated in the United States, one of the major players on the legal cannabis market at the moment. The problem boils down to the disconnect between local state laws, and the regulations imposed by the federal government. It’s not rare to see people getting charged for possession or distribution of cannabis on a federal level, even though they were complying with their local state laws.

The FDA has finally opened up for discussion on the matter, and the organization has released a public inquiry into the issue, asking people to submit their opinions on whether or not the substance should be legalized.

So far, the inquiry has collected thousands of responses, and as can be expected, the majority seem to be supportive of the eventual large-scale legalization of cannabis throughout the US. There appears to be some movement on the matter within the government itself, with Congressman Ro Khanna expressing the opinion that cannabis should not only be legalized across the entire country, but the government should also revise the sentences that have been handed down to people for cannabis-related violations in the past if that happened.

At the same time, more and more people are showing active interest in the field, including those who claim to haven’t been involved with cannabis previously. Cannabis strain reviews are gaining popularity across the board, with various professionals taking the time to properly analyze the effects of each strain or pre-rolled cones on the human mind.

Which is a great thing, because the illegal status of the substance has so far been the number one factor preventing us from learning more about it. There is still a lot of speculation about the long-term effects of weed on our bodies and minds, but that will hopefully change in the not too distant future, as researchers will have an easier time studying it without risking their careers.

Americans who want to make a change have the perfect opportunity for that right now. With the government paying attention to people’s opinions, now is the right time to speak out and have your voice heard. Even if nothing happens right now, this should at least set a good precedent for the near future, bringing the next attempt at federal legalization closer to success. But if all goes well, we won’t even need that second round – cannabis might be legal across the country soon enough!
