The donation will be presented to the Community House during Unity Day on Monday.

Moorestown, NJ -- The Moorestown Public School District recently joined forces its future class of 2025 and the Home and School Association to raise a serious amount of change.
Exactly $1,307.62, to be precise.
Third grade students at Baker, South Valley and Roberts elementary schools were challenged to collect coins to benefit The Moorestown Community House, the community house said on Friday.

“The 2025 Coin Drive,” was a fun and educational way for students to work together to raise money for a local cause, compete in a healthy and positive way, and learn about one of their hometown’s most historic buildings.
On Tuesday, May 24, Community House Executive Director Brad Kenney visited each school and spoke to the students about the house, its history and the recent fire. He also answered questions from students.

He invited the third graders to collect coins to be donated directly into a Fire Restoration Fund for needed repairs to the building.
“Many of the students have learned to swim here, attended our Holiday Tree Lighting, or built a scarecrow on the front lawn. They were excited and curious to learn more about our history and what exactly they as third graders could do to help,” Kenney said. “The coin drive was a great way to involve the students and make them feel good about the direct impact of their combined efforts.”
The classes collected $1,007.62, which was matched with a $100 bonus from the Home and School Association, for each school. The end result was the $1,307.62 that will be donated to the Community House during Unity Day on Monday, June 13.
Unity Day is an annual event where all third graders from the three lower elementary schools come together at The Community House in preparation for the following year together at the Upper Elementary School.
As the Community House said: “The lesson, ‘every penny counts at The Community House’ will not soon be forgotten by The Class of 2025 as the start of one more memorable Moorestown tradition.”
