Tommy's Tavern + Tap Opening Soon In Burlington County

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Tommy's Tavern + Tap — an emerging restaurant chain that prides itself on having something for everyone — soon plans to open its first Burlington County location. The eatery is coming to Mount Laurel's Centerton Square shopping complex, replacing the former TGI Friday's.

The family-run eatery materialized early in the COVID-19 pandemic, opening several restaurants around New Jersey during a difficult time in the industry. Tommy's Tavern now has seven eateries in New Jersey, one in Staten Island and another in Delaware.

"With Tommy's, there is literally something for everyone on the menu, and the environment is multi-generational," founder Thomas Bonfiglio told Patch in 2021. "You can literally walk in there on a date, for a post-work happy hour, a family dinner with all kids in tow, a girls night out with the pickiest eater you know and see that each person in the group can find at least ten items or more on the menu that would suit their interests."

Bonfiglio, 62, died last July. His family continues to run the business.

Tommy's Tavern announced in January that in planned to open at 40 Centerton Rd., Mount Laurel, this summer. While the chain hasn't released a precise opening date, the township said Wednesday that Tommy's Tavern is coming soon.

The restaurant offers a wide range, including pizza, sushi, wings and flatbreads.

"Coal fire pizzas are a customer favorite and feature the freshest tomatoes, cheese, and a variety of toppings," the township said on social media. "For the adventurous type, try Tommy’s sushi creations and poke bowls, which feature sushi rice, seaweed salad and crunchy onions."
