Tornado Watch Issued For South Jersey: See Where

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ — A tornado watch was issued for multiple counties within South Jersey Tuesday.

Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem Counties were placed under alert until 10 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, there is an "extreme" threat to life or property for those in the storm's path.

Wind gusts could reach 70 miles per hour, with large hail pellets possible.

In the event of a tornado, residents should go to a basement, safe room, or available interior room away from windows.

Being in a car is not safe, the National Weather Service added. If you are unable to make it to a shelter, get down in the vehicle and cover your head, or leave the car to get into a low-lying area like a ditch or ravine.
