Township Of Moorestown: Township Seeks Volunteers For EDAC, RAC

Township Council would like to fill one vacancy on the Economic Development Advisory Committee. The Committee consists of nine members and meets once a month.

The duties of the Economic Development Committee include, but are not limited to, the following:

• To promote the advantages of the Township of Moorestown for business, commercial and industrial users.
• To advise and consult with the Township Council, Township Manager, Planning Board and Director of Community Development concerning reasonable and desirable policies to foster appropriate business, commercial and industrial development. All such policies and recommendations shall be designed to safeguard property values of established residential areas in the Township.
• To encourage expansion of existing industry and business in the best interest of the Township.
• To prepare, develop and distribute material and data advertising the advantages of the Township to new business and industry.

Township Council would also like to fill one Regular Member seat and two Student Sophomore Member seats on the Recreation Advisory Committee. The Committee meets once a month, with the exception of July and August-no meetings) and consists of eleven members, each for a term of two years, as well as, four additional members (students).  The sophomore members move up in the second year of their term and become the junior members.  Student members are entitled to receive community service hours for hours served.  The Committee consults with and advises the Council, Manager and Director from time to time with respect to recreational policies, programs and activities within the Township. 

If you are interested in serving, you are invited to complete and submit, no later than September 3, 2021, a Citizen Leadership Form through the website or you may forward same to the Township Clerk at phunt@moorestown.nj.us or 111 West Second Street, Moorestown 08057. Your request will be forwarded to Township Council, the appointing authority, for consideration.
