Truck Fire, Crash Causes Traffic Jam Along NJ Turnpike In South Jersey
The fire and crash were first reported shortly after 1030 a.m. Tuesday, @511njtpk reported.
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — All lanes of the outer roadway of the New Jersey Turnpike southbound near Exit 7 were open early Tuesday afternoon, @511njtpk reported.
However, a crash and subsequent truck fire that was first reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. had shut the outer roadway lanes for approximately 1 hour earlier in the day, according to @511njtpk.
At about 11:15 a.m., the incident had closed all outer southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike, causing a four-mile traffic jam, the Twitter account reported. But by about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, the incident those lanes had reopened, reducing the traffic jam to about two miles, the Twitter account reported.

There was no immediate word regarding the number of total vehicles involved and the number of people injured.
