Tree Lighting Part Of Holiday Happiness Week In Moorestown
The Moorestown Community House will host a week of holiday events beginning Friday, Dec. 1.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Community House will host a week of holiday events beginning Friday, Dec. 1.
The week of Holiday Happiness at the House begins with the inaugural Children’s Holiday Shop on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. Volunteer staff will assist children in shopping for friends and family. This event will take place in the new (but historic) space, which was the site of the original Moorestown Library. Only cash will be accepted. Children have the opportunity to learn about the joys of giving at this hidden gem.
Moorestown’s fifth annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration follows on Monday, Dec. 4. Community House staff and trustees, along with Fox 29 and Moorestown’s own Kathy Orr, invite everyone to gather on the front lawn, as Moorestown officially kicks off the holiday season.

The Philly Pops and the Moorestown Madrigals will perform. Brandywine Senior Living will provide hot chocolate, Wegmans will provide cookies and water, and there will be candy canes compliments of the of the staff and Board of Trustees.
And you never know when Santa himself will arrive.

MooreKids will collect shelf-stable breakfast foods, such as granola bars and cracker packs, and Live Civilly will be collecting warm winter coats and Toys for Tots at the event.
On Dec. 6, the Community House will be featured on the Cooks Tour of Moorestown. House decked out for the holidays. The newly-renovated Club Room, Bridal Suite, Board Room, and historic Library space will all be featured.
The Community House is a 501(c)(3) independent nonprofit organization that receives no government funding. Open since 1926, the mission of the Community House is to strengthen the community by providing a historic civic, social and recreational setting for non-profits, clubs, individuals and families.
