MOORESTOWN, NJ — School's almost out which means one thing: parents are scrambling to find activities to keep their children occupied for the summer. The Moorestown Library has numerous programs and events that can help. Check below for a list of what's happening at the library this summer.
Children's Summer Reading Programs: Build A Better World
Preschool Summer Reading Game (June 19 - September 30)

Preschool age children are invited to participate in the Preschool Summer Reading Game. Pick up your activity sheet beginning June 19, complete at least 10 of the activities and return it by September 30 for a prize!
New Readers Summer Reading Program (June 19 - September 30)
Children entering kindergarten and first grade may participate in the New Readers Summer Reading Game. Pick up your reading log beginning June 19 and list the books you read throughout the summer. Read one book each day at home and return your completed reading log by September 30 for a special prize!
Children's Summer Reading Program (Sign up beginning June 19.
Report June 23 - August 18)
Children entering grades 2-6 may join the Children's Summer Reading Program. Read books throughout the summer and come to the library to tell us about them beginning June 23. Participants may report on up to 3 books per day through Friday, August 18. Children who report on 5-9 books will win a prize from the grab box.Children who report on 10 books or more will win a Barnes & Noble gift card. The more you read, the bigger the gift card!
The last day to report is Friday, Aug. 18. You must read at least 10 books to get a Barnes and Noble gift card. Prizes will not be available after Sept. 30.

Summer Reading Kick-Off: Friends Around the World Concert featuring Yosi
Bring the family for a multicultural, interactive, educational concert with songs, humor, dances and instruments from around the world! We'll get "hands on" with instruments from many lands, learn to count and say "Hello" in many languages, and gain a new appreciation for other cultures. Afterwards, enjoy dessert on the library's patio. Sponsored by the Friends of the Moorestown Library.

Crabgrass Puppet Theatre presents: Three Little Pigs Build a Better House
The three little pigs need new homes but aren't sure if they can trust their architect, B. B. Wolfe. He says that straw makes "excellent insulation," and sticks provide "built-in ventilation." Is it possible Mr. Wolf has ulterior motives? The award-winning Crabgrass Puppet Theatre delivers a delightful and hilarious

Join us for midday matinees and munchies. Snacks will be provided; please bring your own drinks in a covered container. Tuesdays at 1:30 pm

Sciencetellers presents: Building Tall Ships
Ahoy! People don't just build on land. They build on water, too! Set sail with us on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island. With mutiny and high-tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to construct a ship before all hope is lost ... at sea! Planks, sails, rigging, rails... what else could building a pirate ship possibly take?! Throughout the story, volunteers from the audience will help us explore the incredible science behind clouds, combustion, air pressure, scientific variables and more! Bedtime Math's Summer Of Numbers:
You love Summer Reading, so why not try Summer Math? Here's how it works:
- Sign up beginning June 19 and receive your Summer of Numbers chart and stickers.
- Complete a math question each night from a Bedtime Math book, the Today's Fun Math section at bedtimemath.org, or sign up for Bedtime Math's mailing list to have the questions emailed to you. You can also use any math workbook you like.
- Put a star sticker on your chart each night when you complete a math question.
- Return the chart by September 30 for a Happy Hippo gift card and glow-in-the-dark Frisbee.

Teen Summer Reading And Trivia Challenge:
Teen Summer Reading
For teens entering grades 7 and up. (June 19 - August 18)
For each book you read from June 1 on, get a chance to win awesome prizes like gift cards to Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Starbucks and more. It's as easy as 1-2-3:
- Read books and fill out a short book review form.
- Give your review to a children's librarian, and we'll give you a raffle ticket.
- Fill out your raffle ticket, drop it in the can, and cross your fingers!
If you don't win a grand prize, don't despair! Just about everyone will win something. At the end of the summer, if you've read 3-5 books, you can choose a prize book. Read 6+ books for the prize book plus a cool stainless steel water bottle.
Teen Trivia Challenge (June 19 -August 18)
Throughout the summer, check the Teen Area for cool trivia contests with a chance to win bonus raffle tickets.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Party, Registration Required:
You've worked hard to get ready for kindergarten, and now the big day is almost here! All children entering kindergarten who have completed the 1,000 Book Challenge, along with your parents and siblings, are invited to a very special pizza party to celebrate your amazing accomplishment. Action Karate Workshops, Registration Required:
Instructors from Action Karate will lead introductory classes aimed at introducing karate basics and developing respect, focus and self-discipline.
