1.3 Pounds Of Pot Found During Morris Twp Traffic Stop

Police say the man was driving with no headlights, leading to the traffic stop.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police found 1.3 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop this weekend, Morris Township police said.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, police stopped a car driving on Emmett Ave with no headlights. Police said the driver, Luis Gonzalez-Rojas, 35, of Brooklyn, looked "extremely nervous."

Ptl. Clay Boeninghaus searched the car after smelling raw marijuana, police said, and found two heat sealed packages with 1.3 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Luis Gonzalez-Rojas was charged with third degree possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, a fourth degree possession of marijuana and a disorderly persons offense for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with an upcoming court date.
