Landmark 2013 ruling started off with a high number of licenses, but have since slowed, report says.

Oct. 21 marked one full year since New Jersey legalized same-sex marriage after decades-long court battles.

In the first full year, more than 3,700 marriage licenses have been issued to same-sex couples in the Garden State, according to the American Civil Liberties Union. The organization broke down the data by county with information from the Department of Health.

According to the data, which can be seen here, Monmouth County issued the most licenses in the first full year, with approximately 406. Salem County in the southwestern part of the state had the least, with 13.
