Become A Junior Volunteer Firefighter In Morris Twp

MORRIS TWP, NJ — Want to get involved in firefighting in Morris Township? The fire department is looking for junior volunteer firefighters, between the ages of 14 and 17.

To qualify, teens must be in good health, be able to read, write and speak English, and be of good moral character, the fire department says. Volunteers will receive free memberships at the township pools and YMCA.

Applicants will need a background check and a physical. Once approved, orientation is July 9 and 6 p.m. The class runs from July 16 to Aug. 15, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Academy off West Hanover Ave.
