One of only two full statues of Thomas Paine in the entire USA is located in Morristown's Burnham Park. Paine’s insights and writings, presented in the Crisis Papers, Common Sense, Rights of Man, etc. were powerfully effective during the American Revolution and remain inspirational to this day. Prof. Rick Bell (U. Maryland) speaks at the next meeting of the Round Table about how Tom Paine died a pariah, too radical and uncompromising for the cautious new country he had called into being.Join us in person on May 14 at 7pm at Morristown National Historical Park or for the zoom link, email arrt.nj@gmail.com
