Chickens Found In Morris Plains

The chickens were allegedly caught crossing the road, police said.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — Two chickens have been taken into custody after police found them jaywalking, Morris Plains police said on Facebook. Well, sort of— the two chickens were found wandering in town, and police have taken them in for safekeeping until their owners can be found.

The first chicken was found in the backyard of an Academy Road home, near Canfield Ave Wednesday afternoon.

"We are currently interrogating the chicken to see if....he crossed the road or not," police said.

Shortly afterwards they found his road-crossing accomplice, when another chicken was found at a different Academy Road home.

"Okay we have run out of jokes," police said, adding that they were looking for the chickens' owners.
