93 Percent Of Melania Trump's Speech Wasn't Plagiarized: Chris Christie [VIDEO]

Gov. Chris Christie told NBC's "Today" show that 93 percent of Melania Trump's speech wasn't stolen from a Michelle Obama speech from 2008.
Christie, a strong supporter of presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, made the remark after "Today" host Matt Lauer said to him: "You're a former prosecutor. Could you make a case for plagiarism?"
"Not when 93 percent of the speech is completely different from Michelle Obama's speech and they expressed some common thoughts," he said.

"Almost word for word," Lauer replied.
Christie then said "the worst day of the convention is the first day," and that nothing is ever perfect, and that people may eventually forget once other events take shape.

Networks reported that Melania Trump's Republican Convention speech lifted as many as nine lines from Michelle Obama's 2008 speech at the Democratic Convention. The Trump campaign has denied lifting lines from that speech.
New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie slammed Christie for dismissing the potential plagiarism
“I find his attitude — that there is one set of rules for Chris Christie and his friends, and another for the rest of us — both offensive and irresponsible. It is a real problem — one for which New Jersey pays a price,” said Currie.
Christie, however, defended the Trumps.
"I know Melania. I think she worked very hard on that speech and a lot of what I heard on the floor sounded like her," Christie added.
