Colors of Vivaldi

Free Concert and Artist's Exhibit

Please join the Chester Baroque Orchestra on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 4:00 PM for a free concert and artist’s exhibit. The concert will be held at the Church of the Messiah, 50 County Road 513, Chester, New Jersey, and will feature works by Antonio Vivaldi. Vivaldi is recognized as one of the greatest Italian Baroque composers; he enjoyed great success during his lifetime, and his influence was widespread across Europe.

After the performance the Baroque Orchestra will host a meet and greet with the musicians and an artist’s reception, featuring wine, cheese, fruit and homemade sweets. The Chester NJ Artists Network will have several pieces on display from their recent classes, including Watercolor Landscape Collage and Music Inspired Mixed Media. The Chester NJ Artists Network is a group of local artists who gather each Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Field House, hosted by Chester Recreation. For more information about the Chester NJ Artists Network, please e-mail the Recreation Director at recreation@chesterborough.org

The Chester Baroque Orchestra is a sixteen member group that performs under the leadership of Musical Director Dr. Richard Maximoff, an internationally acclaimed violist/violinist and founder of the grammy-award winning Hampton String Quartet. Now in its fourth successful season, the orchestra’s goal is to encourage players of all ages and all levels to come together to enhance their musical abilities. While baroque music sounds simple, it is complex, relying upon the accuracy and beauty of chords and the harmony of the string orchestra playing in unison.
