Cops: Woman Swiped $1,800 From Shopper's Purse in Morris Plains

Incident occurred at Kohl's in Morris Plains on May 5, report says.

A Morristown woman pick-pocketed an unsuspecting shopper’s purse and took $1,800 from it, police claim.

Imelda Flores, 48, allegedly took a women’s purse inside the Kohl’s store in Morris Plains, emptied $1,800 in cash, and then left the bag on the floor in a different area of the store, nj.com reported.

According to the report, Flores is being eyed in similar instances that occurred in Morristown, Montville, Wharton, Millburn, Bergenfield, and Livingston.

In those instances, the report said, Flores did the same as she did on May 5 in Kohl’s, grabbing the purse or wallet from a shopper not looking, disposing the contents, and leaving the holders behind.

Flores was charged with theft and lodged in Bergen County jail for probation violation.
