A Concert to Benefit the Market Street Mission
When/Where: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains.
Why Go: A good cause and plenty of performances: Skip Yingling and The PCMP Band, Jim DiPaolo and Monica Trogani, Erica and Julia Rossetti, Morris Plains Summer Theater Program Cast of Godspell, Danielle Becht, Market Street Mission Singers and more.
Cost: Monetary Donations for the Market Street Mission will be accepted at the door to offset damage from Hurricane Irene
When/Where: Friday, Oct. 21, 5–9 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the in Morris Township.
Why Go: 160 artists from more than 25 states will display and sell their fine crafts.

Why Go: Specialty German food and beverages, pumpkin patch, crafts and movies for the kids.
Cost: $20 for adults, $10 for kids 10 and over, children under 10 are free.
Texas Hold'em Tournament
When/Where: Sat., Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at in Morris Plains.
Why Go: The tournament will benefit St. Virgil Academy and the Morris County Junior School. Visa gift card prizes of $6900 will be paid out to top 10% of players.
Cost: $100 buy-in.

Why Go: To get the fright of your life while supporting District 1's volunteer fire department

'Weird Al' Yankovic 'Alpocalypse Tour'
When/Where: Friday at 8 p.m. at Mayo Performing Arts Center, Morristown
Why Go: Because, hey, it's 'Weird Al.' You need more of a reason? It's family-friendly fun for all.
Cost: $37-$67
When/Where: Gates open at 8 a.m., first race at 1 p.m. at Moorland Farms off Route 202 in Far Hills on Saturday, Oct. 22.
Why Go: Considered the social event of the season, the steeplechase races are a chance to tailgate, picnic and meet friends. The races attract about 50,000 people each year, with social strata climbing the higher you stake your spot going up the hill. The race also benefits Somerset Medical Center in general, and the Steeplechase Cancer Center in particular.

Saturday Morning Road Ride From Marty's
When/Where: Saturday at 8 a.m. from , Morristown
Why Go: Because you're an avid cyclist that can keep up with some hearty legs and some heavy hills.

Why Go: Hay rides, activities for kids, pumpkin picking and a roller derby performance.

Why Go: You're looking for some tasty, fresh late-season farm fare.

"Great Scott! It’s Magic" at the Bickford Theatre

Why Go: NJ magician and illusionist Scott Drukker’s show features dazzling magical effects and illusions, and the crazy antics of Thurston, the talking macaw.
