Delbarton Loses to Bridgewater in T of C Final

Early deficit dooms Green Wave as Panthers cap unbeaten season.

The boys lacrosse team fell behind by five goals and was unable to recover in an 11-5 loss to Bridgewater-Raritan in the Tournament of Champions final Saturday at Kean University.

Delbarton appeared to be back on its heels when Bridgewater settled in and began to show why they finished the season undefeated and have won 36 straight games overall. Bridgewater's potent offense was led by Scott Beida, who scored three of the game's first goals and had five goals overall.  

The Green Wave got on the scoreboard in the second period on a goal from Grant VanFossen. Connor Bibly scored two goals and Jamie White and Matt Oplinger add goals for Delbarton. Austin Williams dominate on faceoffs, winning 15 of 19 for the Green Wave.
