About Morris Plains Co-op Play School
Morris Plains Co-op Play School was founded in 1939 and is licensed by the State of New Jersey, serving children ages 2.5 through 5 years old. The Co-op is committed to developing each child's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth through developmentally appropriate education.
Our school's child-centered philosophy is based on a flexible approach to early education, a commitment to parent education, and the belief that all children learn best through play. Research has repeatedly shown a link between play and the development of the prerequisite skills necessary for more complex learning.
Our school utilizes The Creative Curriculum for Preschool . This comprehensive, research-based curriculum features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. Our teachers all hold a NJ Teaching Certificate in Education and our staff members are trained in first aid and CPR.
We are currently registering for our Step Up program for 2.5 and 3 year olds which begins in January. This class meets one morning a week and is taught by a certified teacher with assistance from a school aide. We also have a limited number of openings in our multi-day classes for the current school year. Please email office@morrisplainsco-op.org for more information. We would be happy to schedule a private tour for you!
