Driver Dies After Striking Tree In Morris Plains Tuesday: Police

A man in his 60s died at Morristown Medical Center after his vehicle struck a tree Tuesday morning, officials said.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — Officials said a man died Tuesday morning after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and struck a tree in Morris Plains.

The one-vehicle crash happened around 10 a.m. as the man was traveling south on Littleton Road near Totten Way, police said. The man's identity is being withheld until his next of kin is notified, and officials said he was in his 60s.

First responders transported him to Morristown Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and police did not have further details.

Other agencies responding to the crash were the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morris Plains Fire Department, Morris Plains Department of Public Works and the Morris County Department of Publics Works.
