MORRIS PLAINS, NJ: Dun & Bradstreet was recently awarded the “Golden Apple Award” by the Interfaith Food Pantry at its Volunteer Recognition Dinner held on October 19th at the Hanover Community Center in Whippany.

“We review all the organizations that work with us throughout the year and select one group that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to our mission. The recipient of the Golden Apple Award is an organization that personifies our ‘neighbors helping neighbors’ spirit. They provide a breadth of support by volunteering, donating food and making monetary contributions. Dun & Bradstreet is the epitome of a truly deserving organization,” said Rosemary Gilmartin, Executive Director of the Interfaith Food Pantry. “Through the years they have become a crucial part of our program and have made a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors in need.”

When Dun & Bradstreet, a Short Hills-based global commercial data and analytics company, began supporting the organization in 2009, they were very resourceful in their approach to collecting money from their staff on behalf of the Pantry. Fundraisers were held for every occasion – candy for Valentine’s Day, green bagels for St. Patrick’s Day and collection pools for March Madness contests are a few examples of the creative ways they raised funds. Since then, Dun & Bradstreet’s commitment has expanded to include donations totaling more than $10,000 and more than 3,000 pounds of food.

In addition to supporting the IFP with food and funds, Dun & Bradstreet employees have visited the Pantry to donate more than 167 volunteer hours, sorting incoming food, repackaging bulk bags of rice and beans and participating in the “Kitchen to Table” program, a teambuilding activity which prepares meals for homebound clients.

“Serving our local communities is part of Dun & Bradstreet’s values-driven culture and is especially exemplified through our Do Good program,” said Pam Gold, sales coordinator, Global Alliances & Partnerships, who accepted the award on behalf of Dun & Bradstreet. “We’re pleased to be a part of the Pantry’s good work and honored to be the 2017 Golden Apple recipient.”

The Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) community-based organization that serves Morris County residents by providing food, education and related resources to Morris County residents during their time of need. The organization distributed over one million pounds of food in 2016. For more information, visit www.mcifp.org.
