Former Morris Township Mayor Running For State Senate
Jeff Grayzel will seek the Democratic nomination for state senate in Legislative District 25.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - Morris Township Deputy Mayor Jeff Grayzel will seek the Democratic nomination for state senate in Legislative District 25.
Grayzel became the first-ever Democratic mayor of Morris Township in 2019 after a 16-point victory in the 2018 election. He is the only Democrat ever to win more than a single term on the Township Committee there, and is currently serving his third three-year term on the governing body.
Grayzel is a decades-long resident of Morris Township who has a solid history of working across the aisle to save taxpayers money, his team said in a release. This past year the tax rate remained flat in Morris Township while services improved, commercial occupancy rates surged, and many new initiatives were undertaken.
Grayzel had a lengthy career at Bristol-Myers Squibb with experiences in system design, marketing, and international business development. He is currently president of a private medical device development firm. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both economics and operations research from Cornell University and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Columbia University.
Grayzel’s hands-on experience and leadership skills will prove invaluable in the State Legislature, officials said.

“I am an experienced and effective leader who advances solutions to our most urgent issues by bringing all constituencies together to buy into win-win results. I have taken this approach throughout my career in both politics and the private sector,” he said.
Building on the many accomplishments during his time as Mayor, Grayzel said he is committed to working to solve the everyday problems facing New Jersey residents such as keeping taxes stable, controlling over-development, and addressing our deteriorating environment. He will apply his engineering background to help solve problems related to traffic, recycling, and making sure government runs more efficiently for our taxpayers.
