Lanes To Close On 2 Major Morris Co. Highways For Several Weeks
The projects, which begin on Thursday, will result in traffic delays, according to transportation officials.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Some lanes on two major highways in Morris County will be closed for several weeks, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
Transportation officials said the closures are due to two reasons: removing heavy snow from roadways, and the beginning processes of a bridge replacement project.

Hanover Avenue/CR 650
Starting Thursday, single lane closures are scheduled on Hanover Avenue/CR 650 eastbound and westbound on the Bridge over I-287.
The lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every weekday for the next few weeks.
___
Both projects will be a moving operation on each side of the roadways, and drivers are asked to slow down, be careful, and expect delays when traveling through the work zones.
The bridge work is part of a $17.5 million project to replace the Hanover Avenue/CR 650 bridge in Hanover and Morris Township over I-287. In addition to improving the infrastructure of the bridge, the project will improve drainage, lighting, signage, and fencing on the bridge, as well as replace sidewalks and upgrade curb ramps to meet ADA standards, officials said.
Transportation officials expect the bridge project to be fully completed in spring 2028.
