Local Morris Township Talent to Star in The Secret Garden

Morris Township - 13-year-old Danielle Becht, and 12 year-old Maya Slaughter, both of Morris Township, will star in Hexagon Players' "The Secret Garden." With spectacular Asian-inspired choreography, amazing stage illusions, fanciful puppetry, dazzling period costumes, and a staging that is both hauntingly suspenseful and whimsically magical; this is one family-friendly production that is sure to leave an indelible imprint on all who experience it. Performances from November 11 through November 19 for a limited 7-show engagement at Grace Lutheran Church, 65 Main Street, Mendham.

Using 4-D Audience Immersion Technology developed exclusively for Hexagon Players, journey with Mary Lennox to the Moors of England in a multi-sensory experience like nothing you've ever seen, heard, smelled, or felt before! This hauntingly, magical production, based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s children’s book, music by Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, and directed by Patrick Frances Mahn, with Musical Direction by Darlene Yannetta.

Danielle (Dragon, Dance Troupe), has been performing in community and regional theatre since the age of 7, favorite roles have included: James (James and the Giant Peach), Debbie Wilkinson (Billy Elliott), Witch/Jack (Into the Woods), Michael Banks (Mary Poppins), and Ellen Rosen (Number the Stars). She is a proud member of Broadway Youth Ensemble and FMS Select Chorus. An 8th grader at Frelinghuysen Middle School, she enjoys playing travel soccer, playing handbells, and singing and dancing when not performing.

Maya (Snake, Dance Troupe), is very excited to be in this new and exciting staging of Secret Garden! Favorite credits include Lyrics for Life NYC (Featured Soloist) School of Rock (Ellen), Dream Street (Daisy), Children of Eden Jr. (Storyteller), Annie (Grace), and This Way To Broadway (Featured Soloist). When she’s not on the stage, she enjoys doing film-work, playing soccer, field hockey, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
