Andrew Chin, a student at Frelinghuysen School, had an out-of-this world experience recently.

Andrew Chin, a seventh-grader at Frelinghuysen Middle School, attended a special session of the popular Space Camp program created for blind and visually impaired children. Held once per year at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, this program duplicates the experience provided to sighted kids by utilizing braille, CCTV and other strategies.
This weeklong program promotes science, technology, engineering and math skills as well as teamwork and leadership.
Andrew Chin was also part of the Aviation Challenge Program, designed for students who are interested in military aviation and flight mechanics. He was able to fly a simulated F/A-18 fighter jet, complete with Top Gun-style flying manuevers..
