Morris Plains Community Band to Perform at Morristown Fall Festival
Local band to play diverse program at noon on The Green
The Morris Plains Community Band will be performing at the Morristown Fall Festival this coming Sunday, September 25, 2016. The 26-piece concert band, a revival of a Morris Plains tradition dating back to 1888, will perform a 90-minute program consisting of traditional American music, marches, patriotic songs and Broadway & movie tunes.
Under the direction of Larry Ripley, a retired professional musician and band leader, the band will perform on The Green in Morristown from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm.
The Morris Plains Community Band always welcomes new members. We range in age from 12 to 80, require no audition, and have no attendance requirements or commitment. Our music is fairly easy (middle school level) and our philosophy is to have as much fun playing music as possible.
