Morris Plains School To Host Book Reading, Giveaway Event

KPMG volunteers and First Book plan a reading and book distribution event at Alfred Vail Elementary School.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — KPMG volunteers are scheduled to visit Alfred Vail Elementary School on Tuesday for a literacy event that will include classroom reading, hands-on activities, and the distribution of donated new books.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the school, 125 U.S. 202, Morris Plains. KPMG said volunteers will partner with KPMG Friends & Family for Literacy, known as KFFL, and First Book for the program. KPMG New Jersey Managing Partner Jeff Knight is expected to be among the volunteers taking part.

According to the event announcement, volunteers will read with students, participate in literacy activities, and distribute donated books during the morning program. The event is described in the announcement as a classroom-based program.

KPMG said the event is part of its fourth annual Community Impact Day. According to the announcement, the effort is being held in collaboration with the KPMG U.S. Foundation.

KPMG said Community Impact Day gives employees an opportunity to connect with one another while supporting causes they care about. According to the announcement, the goal is to foster “a sense of unity and purpose.”
