Morris Township Democrats to hold Annual Fall Gathering

Invitation to Morris Township Democrats fundraiser

Former Gov. Richard J. Codey (D), who is currently State Senator in District 27, will be a special guest at the Annual Fall Gathering of the Morris Township Democrats to be held Sunday, Sept. 18 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at a private home in Morris Township.

The event is a biannual fundraiser for the Democrats, who welcome all Township residents to join them. The cost is $50 a person. To receive a flier and sign-up form, please contact Cathy Wilson at cathywilson@me.com by Sept. 14.

In addition, attendees will be meeting the Morris Township Democratic candidate for Township Committee, Pamela Sheldrick, who is running for elective office for the first time.

Pam and her husband have been residents of Morris Township for over 40 years. Over that time, Pam has been active in NOW and served on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood in Morristown.

During the 16 years that her bookstore was located in Madison, she was active in the Chamber of Commerce, serving as president, and as a member of the Downtown Development Committee. Currently, she is on the staff of two local YMCAs where she is involved in the national LiveStrong program for cancer survivors and the national Delay the Disease program for Parkinson’s disease.

Her campaign focal points include bringing transparency into local government, and ending closed-door decision making. She also supports sustainable development that maintains a balance of economic growth and the conservation of environmental resources.

She also promises to survey senior citizens on quality of life issues in order to enhance Township services that are currently offered.

Other invited guests include Joe Wenzel, candidate for U.S. Congress, and Freeholder candidates Rozella Clyde, Mitch Horn and John Von Achen.
