Morris Township Democrats to Hold Fall Fundraiser
Featuring Morris Township Committee Candidates Jeff Grayzel and Mark Gyorfy
The Morris Township Democrats will hold their Annual Fall Fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 16 6:30 to 8 p.m. at a private home in the Township. Candidates for Morris Township Committee Jeff Grayzel and Mark Gyorfy will be speaking. Also featured are Democratic candidates for Freeholder, Rupande Mehta, Richard Corcoran, and Mary Dougherty, as well as County Clerk Candidate Shala Gagliardi.
Morris Township Committee Candidate Jeff Grayzel is a two-term committeeman and decades-long resident who has a long history of working across the aisle to save taxpayers money. Mark Gyorfy, a 10-year member of the Township fire department and former congressional staffer, knows what it takes to legislate effectively, communicate with residents, and sacrifice time and energy for the Township.
Jeff Grayzel, who has been President of G3 Medical Development since 1998, has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Columbia.

Jeff has been a baseball coach for T-ball and Morristown National Little League for nine years and a soccer coach for seven years in the Township. He has also served as vice president of the Washington Valley Community Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Morristown Jewish Center. Jeff and his wife Lynn have lived in the Township for 21 years and are the parents of two teenaged sons.
Mark Gyorfy was born and raised in the Township and is a Morristown High graduate. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland where he studied government and counter-terrorism. A former congressional advisor on homeland security, veterans’ affairs, and financial issues, Mark currently works in the financial services industry.

Mark is a firefighter with Hillside Hose Company No. 1. He was recently named as a Top 2018 Millennial to watch by InsiderNJ.com
County Clerk candidate Shala Gagliardi is a resident of Chatham Township. She is running for Morris County Clerk to bring fairness, equality, and bipartisanship to the Morris County election process. Shala was born in New York and raised in Livingston, NJ. She attended the University of Southern California, where she received her bachelor’s degree in international relations. She is also a graduate of Whittier Law School. Shala found her passion working in immigration law.
The three Democratic candidates for freeholder all have a wealth of experience.
Mary Dougherty is a real estate agent with Team Dougherty, and as the First Lady of Morristown is an active member of many community organizations. She co-founded the Morristown Women in Business Networking Committee, and is a board member for Morris County School of Technology.
Richard Corcoran of Boonton is a licensed CPA and works for O’Connor Davies, LP, a large regional accounting firm as a senior manager in the Litigation and Forensic Department. He would bring his financial expertise to the Freeholder Board.
The third Freeholder candidate, Rupande Mehta, was born in India and came to the United States in 2002 after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Mumbai. She then earned an MBA in economics and finance from Clarion University, and a master’s degree in public administration from Rutgers University. She became a naturalized citizen in 2017 and resides in Denville.
Suggested contributions for the Sept. 16 Fundraiser are $50, $75 or $100 per person.
