FIND THE FUN OF FAIRIES-Visit Watnong Park in Morris Plains

Morris Plains Fairy Walk

Last weekend fairies, young and old, gathered at Watnong Park in Morris Plains. As the sun was setting, visitors enjoyed the many little fairy houses placed along a path through the woods that were all glowing with lights. The park, located just off Grannis Avenue, features a pond and waterfall, playground, pickleball court, and picnic areas. After children enjoyed trying to spot the little fairies hidden along the path, they were treated to a variety of crafts and games. The event was hosted by the Morris Plains Beautification Committee and Morris Plains Clean Communities with support from the Morris Plains Department of Public Works and Police Department. Those missing the opening event can still visit the Fairy Walk, which will be on permanent display. Visitors should look for the signs posted in back of the pickleball court and are asked to stay on the path to avoid any poison ivy that may be growing there. Stay quiet so you don't scare the fairies that may be sleeping.

The end of the cross country regular season was a mixed bag for Morristown Beard as they picked up a win over Hanover Park and dropped a contest to Madison. Morristown Beard tops Hanover Park, 25-30 Kyle Larsson finishes as the top individual vs. Hanover Park (4th overall) as MBS wins a close one versus Hanover Park.  HP's top finisher was Eric Boccard, who was 2nd in the head-to-head competition (12th overall). Madison tops Morristown Beard, 21-34 Madison's 1-2 punch of Patrick Hanley and Connor Riley (2nd and 3rd overall) led the strong Madison team to a comfortable victory.  Kyle Larsson was Morristown-Beard's top finisher, in 3rd place vs Madison (4th overall).
