New Dumpling Restaurant Opens In Morris County

The Shanghai street food-inspired concept balances old-world and modern-day practices in the art of dumpling making.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Don’t let the name fool you, Ugly Dumpling’s newest location in Morris Plains offers good-looking and good-tasting street food-inspired cuisine.

Located at 1711 on Route 10, Ugly Dumpling is now open in Morris Plains after years of mouthwatering anticipation.

Ugly Dumpling specializes in soup dumplings, Dim Sum, and wontons. Customers can pick and choose filling options, including chicken, pork, shrimp, and more. There are vegan and vegetarian options as well.

Aside from dumplings, the chain offers noodle bowls, wok dishes, desserts, and bubble tea.

“Ugly Dumpling has expanded to Morris Plains, bringing its signature handmade dumplings, crafted daily in its in-restaurant Bao Labs, to the local community,” a spokesperson said. “From fresh dumplings and savory noodle dishes to refreshing boba beverages, Ugly Dumpling offers a menu with something for everyone.”

Originally opening in Edison, the dumpling chain has expanded throughout New Jersey, including in Monmouth, Burlington, and Union counties.

“We are so happy that Ugly Dumpling is now a 15-minute drive away compared to driving down to Edison,” one five-star review reads. “The food came out so quickly, hot and fresh. This place is the best option for going family style, sharing a little bit of everything… I cannot recommend this place enough and I expect to become a regular!”

Ugly Dumpling is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
