New Tools for St. Virgil Academy Teachers

Over the years, St. Virgil Academy in Morris Township has built a technology platform that rivals most area schools--public, private and parochial.  With the use of Wi-Fi connections, desktops, laptops, tablets and SMART board technology, the St. Virgil faculty members have been able to enhance their lesson plans through the use of these 21st Century teaching tools.  And, with the approach of the new school year, their tool kits will be getting just a bit heavier...

In addition to the Mac books and iPads the school already has in its Apple inventory, the Academy will be acquiring a medley of Mac minis.  The addition of this “tiny” technology is essential as St. Virgil Academy embarks into the world of nanotechnology.  These tablets will be needed in order for the junior school students to implement their nanotechnology designs.  Now, with the ability to move from one device to another, and from one platform to another, nothing will stand in the way as these young minds design, create, test and implement.

As with all the technology St. Virgil Academy introduces, the school’s faculty will be trained on how to use the equipment, and how to best incorporate it into their daily lessons.  While technology opens a world of opportunities in any classroom, it will never replace the time-honored traditional teaching methods that are at the heart of a St. Virgil Academy education.  State-of-the-art technology and individualized teaching techniques—a winning combination for this 100+ year old educational institution!
