Learn About Cara's Cottage Saturday
Visit Fosterfields and hear the story of Caroline Foster's refuge.

On Sat., Oct. 22 from 1–3:30 p.m., visitors to will have a chance to learn about a charming little structure called Cara’s Cottage.
Between 1916 and 1919, , the woman who eventually donated Fosterfields Farm to Morris County, built herself a little getaway on her family's property. She was a skilled carpenter, despite being one of the local upper-class debutantes.
The one-room cottage still stands on the property today, surrounded by a garden called the "Temple of Abiding Peace," which Foster also designed.

Enjoy light refreshments as you learn about how the cottage and garden designs complement one another. Discover how Foster used the cottage to entertain friends.
Admission to this program is included with the Fosterfields admission, which is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (65+), $4 for children ages 4 to 16, and $2 for children ages 2 and 3. Admission is free for children under age 2 and Friends of Fosterfields and Cooper Gristmill with a valid membership card.
