Overdose Victim Revived By Morris Twp Police

The officer used Narcan to reverse the overdose, police said.

MORRIS TWP, NJ— Two Morris Township Police officers saved a life recently by reversing an opioid overdose, police said on Facebook.

Ptl. Clay Boeninghaus and Ptl. Derek Adair used Narcan to help stop an overdose in town, according to police. The victim regained consciousness and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

As opioid addiction rises in the county, police departments have begin carrying Narcan, a nasal spray that blocks and reverses overdoses. Some departments have even received training on administering the drug to their K-9 partners, who can encounter opioids in the line of duty.
