Report: Morristown Bar Operator Used Racial Slurs, Told Cops to 'Shoot People in the Back' in Diner Outburst
No charges for Michael Walsh, but individual complaints may be filed, report says.

A member of one of the most prominent business families in Morristown found himself in a confrontation with police after refusing to leave the Morristown Diner despite the owner telling him to do so.
While no charges were pressed, Michael Walsh, operator of Veronica’s Restaurant and Bar, found himself arguing with police early Tuesday morning while highly intoxicated, according to dailyrecord.com.
Walsh is the son of William Walsh, owner of Veronica’s and part of the family who owns Sona Thirteen, Tashmoo, and the Dark Horse.

Police responded to the diner after employees called to say a patron would not leave after using racial slurs toward an African American worker and disparaging other employees, the report said.
When police arrived and confronted Walsh – accompanied by his brother, Patrick, who had fallen asleep in a booth at the diner – the Morristown resident asked police why he was being forced to leave, and told police, “Do whatever you need to do. Shoot people in the back. Do whatever you need to do,” the report said.

Charges weren’t filed because the Walsh brothers ended up leaving the establishment on their own, but employees targeted by the pair were informed by police how to file a complaint, the report said.
