Shooting Under Investigation In Morris Twp

Police aren't sure if anyone was hurt, but said there's no danger to the public.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — A late-night shooting on Wednesday is currently under investigation by the Morris Township Police, and they're looking for more information.

At 11:56 p.m. on Wednesday, police say gunfire was reported on Jersey Ave in the township. They found evidence at the scene, but there were no victims and it's unclear what the motivation was.

"The investigation is active, however we feel confident that there is no danger to the public and it is an isolated incident," Chief Mark DiCarlo said.

Police are asking the public for help identifying those involved. DiCarlo said police are looking for three men who are possibly Hispanic or African-American, based on witness statements. Witnesses also saw a Ford Crown Victoria in the area, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Morris Township Police at 973-539- 0777 or Det.
