Tea, Workshops Get Creative Juices Flowing

Finding your muse has never been easier. Morris Township resident Kathy Kane, of Kane Creative Consulting, LLC, will host a "Creativi-tea" on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. that will introduce attendees to the muse Audacity from the book "Nine Modern Day Muses and a Bodyguard" by Jill Badonsky.

Those looking to infuse their lives and work with boldness and spirit will be guided by Kane, a Kaizen Muse Creativity Coach, toward the steps and tools necessary to come that much closer to their dreams. Refreshments will be served during the two-hour program.

A follow-up conference call will help to reinforce what participants took away from the afternoon. The fee is $25 per person.

For others seeking a longer commitment, Kane is also leading eight-week writing workshops. She will employ the Amherst Writers and Artists method as described in Writing Alone & With Others by Pat Schneider.

The classes will call upon modern-day muses and are offered Monday, Sept. 26 through Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Nov. 16 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $240 per person.

Participants of all levels will write together and will read loud after being led through exercises that will "tickle the mind."

"It’s an opportunity to stretch a little and discover a lot," said Kane.  "When engaging the imagination rules can be broken; it’s safe to ‘go outside the lines’; there is no wrong or right way to let your imagination soar. It’s all okay and it’s all in the hands of the individual writer’s internal voice.”

The workshops will be held at The Room Above, located at 2 East Main St., Brookside.
