Township Woman 'Thrilled' With Success of Walk for Vision

Lauren Jacobs-Lazer organized her fourth Walk for Vision New Jersey, held in Verona Park on Oct. 16.

Morris Township resident Lauren Jacobs-Lazer, who wasabout her involvement in "Walk for Vision," reported that her fourth annual event was a "phenomenal success." Held in Verona Park on Sunday, Oct. 16, the event raised $30,000.

Back in September, Jacobs-Lazer said she would be "beyond thrilled" to beat last year's total of 175 participants in the 5K event, which supports research into inflammatory eye disease. She got her wish.

“We had over 200 walkers at the 5K event!” said Jacobs-Lazer, who has lived with uveitis, the third leading cause of blindness worldwide, for 20 years.  “We have made extraordinary strides in participation and fundraising since the original event, which makes me proud beyond belief.”
