Tyler Urrutia Receives Eagle Scout Honors
Boy Scout Troop 39 of Morris Plains recognizes its 82nd Eagle Scout

Boy Scout Troop 39 of Morris Plains recently held a Court of Honor to recognize its 82nd Eagle Scout: Tyler Urrutia of Morris Plains.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. It requires completing a service project that demonstrates project planning and leadership. For his Eagle project, Tyler led a team that designed and installed a new mural under the New Jersey Transit Morris Plains Station Train Bridge on the northbound side of Speedwell Avenue.
The Eagle project is one of the last steps toward becoming an Eagle Scout. With Troop 39, Tyler has also hiked and backpacked extensively, camped more than 100 nights in tents, and canoed hundreds of miles on rivers in both the United States and Canada. He attended summer camp and went on high adventure trips, including a weeklong canoe trip in Algonquin Provincial Park. Tyler, a junior at Morristown High School, has also volunteered hundreds of hours in his community with the troop.
