On his way to becoming an Eagle Scout, Matthew Enderley, a member of Morris Plains Boy Scout Troop 39, accomplished his Eagle Scout Project, enhancing the primary South entrance of our borough. The project provides “warm welcome”, as people enter into Morris Plains. Matthew has been active in Scouting for over 10 years. He actually thought of this project 6 years ago and it is a great example of a Scout project that gives back to the community and reinforces the vision: The Boy Scouts of America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law. During the school year, Troop 39 meets weekly at the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains to plan camping trips, community service events and learning required to earn rank advancements.
