Showers, heavy at times, will continue throughout the region Friday. New rainfall amounts will be between a tenth to a quarter of an inch an hour, the National Weather Service estimates. Thunder is possible, too.

Looks like Saturday won't be much better. There's a 40 percent chance of showers Saturday, with a break after 9 p.m. that night.
And on Mother's Day, most of the rain is expected before 8 a.m. but there is a 60 percent chance of precipitation for the whole day.

A Coastal Flooding Warning is in effect for Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May counties, beginning at 10 p.m. Friday.
Tidal flooding is expected elsewhere in South Jersey.

Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 52. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday night: Showers likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 47. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. East wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday night: Isolated showers before 8pm, then showers likely after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. South wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday: Showers likely, mainly before 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a northwest wind 11 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a 10th of an inch possible.
