5 Events To Celebrate Cinco De Mayo In Morristown

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Cinco de Mayo, always observed on May 5, falls on a Tuesday this year, so the celebration of Mexican heritage and culture starts this weekend in many cities, including Morristown.

From bar crawls to food deals to full-blown fiestas, Morristown is offering several ways to celebrate the Mexican holiday.

• May 2: Morristown Cinco De Mayo Bar Crawl kicks off at the Frog Restaurant & Sports Bar at 5 p.m.
• May 1-5: Frog Restaurant & Sports Bar will be offering food and drink deals in celebration of Cinco De Mayo for five days.
• May 1,2,3: The Iron Bar is celebrating Cinco de Mayo all weekend with happy hour specials, night life specials,
• May 5: Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at NOM Mexican Table + Tequila Bar, noon to 10 p.m.
• May 5: Cinco de Mayo Outdoor Event Hosted by Homestead Bar & Kitchen, noon to 8 p.m.

Cinco de Mayo marks Mexico’s 1862 victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla, when an outnumbered Mexican army pulled off an unlikely win.
