$669K Granted for Patriot's Path Connection to Great Morristown Greenway
Award will help make 35-mile trail more accessible to Morristown residents.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation just awarded a $669,000 grant to Morristown to create a connection between Patriot’s Path and the Great Morristown Greenway.
The grant comes from the DOT’s Transportation Alternatives Program, which is federally funded and provides money for “non-traditional” transportation projects created at the local level to enhance cultural, artistic and aesthetic integrity of the surrounding communities and environment.
The funding will help complete the Patriots’ Path link which provides pedestrian access to the Great Morristown Greenway.

“I want to thank the Morris County Park Commission for teaming with us on this pursuit,” Armington said in a statement. “Opening this section of the Patriots Path will provide a safe connection between our two communities, provide a great opportunity to residents of the 2nd Ward to participate in active recreation, and serve as a catalyst for the development of other recreational and alternative transportation facilities that are included in the Master Plan.”
