MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A man has been arrested for burglarizing and attempting to burglarize several vehicles and homes in Morris County this week, police said.
Blaise T. Wiget, 37, of Budd Lake, faces a slew of charges after authorities discovered he was behind a string of Mt. Olive burglaries from Monday night into Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, around 3:15 a.m., police were called to a home on Pine Street on a report that a Ring camera caught someone entering the homeowner’s car, police said.
Shortly after, a Mt. Olive Road resident reported that her car had been broken into.
Authorities soon found Wiget walking on Flanders Road. Investigators determined that he had entered or attempted to enter ten motor vehicles and two residences, police said.
Wiget was found in possession of belongings from nine of the broken-into cars, police said.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he began to spit on the processing desk, computers, and employees, authorities said.
Wiget is charged with burglary, theft of movable property, and throwing bodily fluids at police officers. He was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility to await court proceedings.
Authorities ask that anyone with additional videos or information on the string of robberies to call the Mount Olive Police Investigations Division at 973-691-0900 Ext. 7204.
