1. Morris County Woman’s Body Unclaimed: Did You Know Her? (patch.com) — Morristown-area readers are being asked to help identify relatives of Brooke A. Woodcock, a 72-year-old woman who recently died in Pennsylvania and whose body remains unclaimed. Officials say she was likely born in Morristown, had family roots in the town, and married there, and they hope someone locally may know surviving relatives who can come forward.    

2. Morristown Non-Profit Awarded Grant From Local Foundation (patch.com) — Market Street Mission in Morristown has received a new grant from the Morristown-based F. M. Kirby Foundation to bolster its daily services for people in crisis. The funding will help sustain free meals, men’s emergency shelter, and long-term addiction recovery programs that have supported local residents for decades.    

3. Morris County launches traveling mural for America's 250th anniversary (wrnjradio.com) — Morris County has kicked off an interactive traveling mural celebrating 250 years of local history, first unveiled at Morristown National Historical Park. The mural will tour the county, inviting residents to help paint sections at stops like Chatham’s Fishawack Festival and the Morris County Library, turning the artwork into a shared community project.    

4. Free summer concerts in North Jersey — Where to hear live music (dailyrecord.com) — Free outdoor music and dance events are coming to downtown Morristown this summer, with Mayo Performing Arts Center hosting Bollywood, country line dancing, and Salsa at Sunset at Pioneer Plaza and Vail Mansion Plaza. The roundup also highlights similar no-cost concert series in Mahwah, Wayne, Hackensack, Denville, and Fort Lee if you’re up for a short drive.    

5. 2026 Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival to Take Place August 15th (newjerseystage.com) — Morristown’s free Jazz & Blues Festival returns to the Green on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with music running from noon to 10 p.m. Mayor Tim Dougherty’s announced lineup features the James Langton New York All-Star Big Band, Richard Baratta’s Latin/jazz septet, LaBamba and the Hubcaps, and rising blues vocalist Dylan Triplett.
