Baby Deer Rescued By Morristown Firefighters

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown rescue crews recently showed that they're not limited to helping just folks, but also fawns.

This week, firefighters were called to Burnham Park to assist a baby deer that was trapped.

The crews can be seen rounding up the deer before wrapping it in a tarp to "minimize any human scent transfer."

Soon after, the fire crews carried the baby deer back to its mother and reunited the pair.

"Great work by our firefighters and police officers for demonstrating that public safety is about protecting all members of our community—two-legged and four-legged alike," a Morristown Department of Public Safety statement read. "Thanks to the teamwork, patience, and compassion of all involved, the rescue was a success. The baby deer was safely released and happily reunited with its mother."
