ICE Rounds Up 12 In Latest Morristown Raid, Feds Say (patch.com) β Morristown residents are learning more about a recent ICE operation that led to 12 arrests in the area, with federal officials releasing detailed immigration histories for five of those detained. The raid follows earlier ICE actions in Morristown this year, including arrests last month and a January sweep that involved a Morristown High School student, underscoring continuing immigration enforcement activity around the town.

2. Honor a Morristown Veteran with a Mo-Town Heroes Banner (tapinto.net) β Morristown is inviting residents to honor local veterans and service members with personalized Mo-Town Heroes banners displayed along South Street for Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Families can sponsor a banner for a $200 donation to American Legion Post 59, or seek sponsorships if cost is a barrier. Applications are first-come, first-served, with annual deadlines of March 15 and August 15.

3. Morristown Medical's Emergency Dept. Wins Prestigious Award (patch.com) β Morristown Medical Center's Sameth Emergency Department has again earned the national Lantern Award, recognizing its innovation, patient care, and staff well-being. Treating more than 110,000 patients in 2025, the Level 1 Trauma and Geriatric Emergency Department also trains future clinicians through residency programs. Morristown is one of three Atlantic Health emergency departments honored among 126 nationwide.

4. Morris nursing facility auctioned off. What was the winning bid? (northjersey.com) β Morris County has accepted a sole $27.05 million bid from Allaire Health Services to buy the county-owned Morris View Healthcare Center, easing an estimated $1.6 million in annual costs and potentially boosting Morris Township's tax base. Allaire, which already operates Morristown Post Acute Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, must keep the site as a long-term care facility with at least 283 beds.

5. Morristown retiree's second act: Helping veterans start businesses (morristowngreen.com) β A Morristown retiree, Army veteran and former Kings Super Markets CEO Alan Levitan, is devoting his second career to helping veterans and military families launch businesses through the free Veteran Ventures Program. The nine-week virtual course pairs each participant with an experienced business consultant for intensive, personalized planning and feedback. Applications are open now for the next cohort, with interviews starting September 8, 2026.
